Final closedown of Viaplay Xtra (UK) - 25/01/2024 1:00PM

Viaplay Xtra has closed as of 1pm this afternoon. It began as 'FreeSports' offering free-to-air sports coverage and was available on Sky, Virgin, Freesat and Freeview. It was also on the STV Player for a period. After it was removed from Freesat and Freeview, Viaplay Group acquired Premier Sports and FreeSports. They have since rebranded their networks to the 'Viaplay Sports Network', this included FreeSports being renamed Viaplay Xtra. Now, Premier Sports have bought Viaplay Group, and over a year since they branded it as Viaplay they're changing it back to Premier Sports?.. It's all a bit confusing, isn't it?
