Lexus GX470 stuck in gear, will not shift | Fixed!

Hello and welcome, thanks for stoping by. Today I'm working on the GX as it is stuck in gear. The shifter will not allow the trans to get out of reverse. At first I had a mini freak out, then thought everything through. The gear selector is attached to the trans cable with a metal pin but it's captured with a small plastic grommet type piece. Well, mine was broken which allowed the gear shifter to move without moving the trans cable. That was a terrible explanation, sorry. We got it fixed so, all good. I explain it better in the video, promise. If this happens to you you can always slid the cable on to the pin to get you to your destination. Really hope this helps save people some money out there.
