Jet Propulsion Laboratory Visual Strategists David Delgado and Dan Goods talk about how they visualize various aspects of NASA’s earth science satellites including the GRACE Follow-On Mission which tracks water movement on earth via two spacecraft that map the gravity field of the earth; the Pulse, a digital sculpture that responds to the communication between space crafts and earth; and the Orbit Pavilion in Huntington Gardens, where visitors can listen to the location of satellites in real time. The projects combine data with less visible phenomena like the nuances of fluid dynamics and the presence of satellites in order to make the data more intuitive and accessible.
