Synopsis This proposal is a research project that begins with an approach to the Coca plant as an organic element that crosses various layers of Latin American events, and that can have repercussions on a global level. As part of this investigation I have developed a work with indigenous communities of the Colombian cauca, a primitive people who have established an ancestral relationship of respect with the land, and who have made this plant a determining element in their worldview, as well as for your economy. The Coca plant is the starting point to start a series of plastic processes that have resulted in a proposal for material transformation, resulting in a variety of bio-based materials, including: vegan leather, bioplastic, bio threads and paper. What progressively became an input for this digital production, which explores the relationships that can derive between the micro and the macro, comparing for this the cellular structure of the plant with the territory itself, as well as with the cellular structures of the different natural species that inhabit it. Generating with this a multitude of meaningful contents that can range from violence, politics, underground economy, skin, nature, landscape, ancestry, resistance and the conflicts that derive from the possession and exploitation of land. Conceptualization The research process for this digital piece began in 2020, taking as analysis material a variety of biomaterials that I elaborated from the Coca plant. Which were later digitized to explore the plastic and discursive capacity of this element when manipulated in a software that interprets the sound dimension of the image. This is how we can see a line that, like a scanner, sweeps the screen as if it were generating a new virtual territory. Performing a data information transfer A space that is constantly fragmented and rebuilt, recreating different patterns that refer to the molecular structures of the Coca plant, as well as layers that are reconfigured simulating a broken tissue, which multiply, overlap and they mix in an unsuccessful attempt to restore it. These sequences move, generating organic patterns that refer to a rhizome.
