Here's a waacking short film I co-directed with my good friend Charlotte @charcarbone and I also shot & edited it~ Pls enjoy!! -- PUNKS is an exploration of the queer dance style waacking (also spelled whacking). Waacking is a street dance style created by Black and Latino gay men in 1970s L.A. as a way to create a safe space for self expression. It is often confused with voguing, but is in fact a completely different style with a unique history. The film explores the complex history and modern day relationships with waacking.
