The Rhinogs, Snowdonia's true wilderness.

Really tough to research this one as depending on you're definition of a path there's either no paths or hundreds of paths. Starting from the car park at Cwm Bychan, which is tough to get to in itself with 3 miles of single track road to nagotiate. After dropping our money in the honesty box, we set out towards the Roman Steps before descending to Pystll Gwyn. After a quick dip in the falls we headed for Rhinog Fach. Really steep slog up the side of this one before emerging on a wide plateau/ridge near to the summit. After summiting we retraced our step down and then began the ascent of Rhinog Fawr. Slightly less steep but still a challenging slog with minor scrambling. We stayed at the summit for half hour or so before descending to Llyn Ddu. Just above here we were treated to the most impressive sunset. From the Llyn we headed back to the Roman Steps and back to Cwm Bychan. Enjoy!!!!!!
