Wide shot of rubble at site STORYLINE: Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired two rockets on Sunday at the southern Israeli town of Sderot, moderately wounding one person and causing damage to a house, the army said. Militants often target Sderot, located just 5 kilometres (3 miles) from Gaza. Israel continued its broad military offensive in the coastal area on Sunday, meant to halt the rocket fire and gain the release of a soldier captured two weeks ago. Soon after the soldier was taken captive, Israel began pounding Gaza City with airstrikes, insisting on freedom for the 19-year-old serviceman, and an end to rocket fire before it calls off its invasion. Israeli forces pulled back from northern Gaza on Saturday but crept closer to Gaza City. Tanks continued shelling various locations in the Gaza Strip on Sunday morning, and an Israeli missile also hit a militant training camp in Khan Younis. No casualties were reported.
