You may have noticed the huge new public art installation on US #441, Hollywood, Florida in front of the Dolce Hotel across from the Guitar Hotel - aka The Let LOVE Guide Your Way Weathervane. "Let LOVE Guide Your Way" began in 2018 as a public art project and has since become a mantra—a personal tool I use to guide my life, and one I hope others will use to guide theirs. A weathervane is a device used to measure wind direction and is often used as a metaphor for people who change their views frequently. When faced with indecision, "Let LOVE Guide Your Way." Why a weathervane? Weathervanes are important tools—used by farmers to help grow our food by measuring wind direction for planting seeds and spraying fertilizer. The weathervane is the sculpture used to represent the art of the "Let LOVE Guide Your Way" project. The shapes of the base represent human forms coming together, with hearts at the top and bottom. The points of these hearts face north, providing a reference point for where the wind is coming from—these are fully working weathervanes. The spinning Cupid’s arrow represents LOVE. The bright color red—"Let LOVE Guide Your Way RED"—is the universal color of LOVE. An upright heart is a LOVE Heart. A sideways heart, also known as a Kindness Heart, represents Kindness. The graphic for "Let LOVE Guide Your Way" shows the tip of the weathervane looking up at a blue sky. When worn as a Kindness Button, the sideways heart points toward the wearer’s heart.
