In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you how to paint an extra-wide panoramic watercolour landscape using a limited colour palette to achieve beautiful colour harmony and a glowing centre of light. This step-by-step lesson focuses on building soft layers, creating reflections in water, and keeping your painting unified by working with just four colours: Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Prussian Blue, and Payne’s Grey. We’ll explore: ✔ How to keep light in the centre of your painting ✔ Mixing harmonious greens, browns, and oranges from a limited palette ✔ Painting soft background trees and reflections ✔ Using dry brush and texture for ripples in water ✔ Creating depth with tonal values rather than extra colours This panoramic format (9cm x 31cm) is perfect for practicing composition and atmosphere, and the techniques shown can be applied to any landscape painting. Whether you’re a beginner or an intermediate watercolour artist, this tutorial will help you gain confidence with colour harmony, reflections, and layering.
