Shevitsa in Red & Black - Vidin region, part 1

I'm embroidering a shevitsa - Bulgarian folklore embroidery - from northwestern Bulgaria, region of Vidin. The shevitsa is a repetition of two afternating figures, one red and one black. In this video I'm ebroidering the red figure, and in part 2 I will embroider the black figure. The shevitsa is traditional for the region. It is exhibited at the Krastata Kazarma history museum in the city of Vidin. It dates from about the turn of the XX century. In my opinion, it most likely decorated the front chest opening of a man's shirt. It is done in cross stitch. I'm using 28-count linen and 3 strands of embroidery floss.
