There was more than one window where he or the Black Order could’ve made the difference, reacquired the Infinity Stones, completed a new Infinity Gauntlet and kept his perfect record against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. In some cases, he could have avoided having to prevent the undoing of The Snap in the first place. Every villain has their flaws. Thanos’ come with some advantages. His self-assured nature is a product of his drive to fulfill what he feels is his destiny. Having defeated entire planets as part of his regular work week, he can be forgiven for underestimating the resistance of Earth and its superheroes, but there are still mistakes that he made which undid him in the end.
