Wind Cave National Park Elk Mountain campground is located next to a pretty prairie and has 61 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. The campground is first come, first-serve and usually open mid-May through September. Elk Mountain campground has drinking water and flush toilets during the warmer months. There are no hookups, showers or dump station. The closest dump stations are in Custer and Hot Springs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Backcountry camping is also available.
