✨Backstory: Since her tragic death, Meredith has been regularly visiting her childhood home. Growing up, Meredith always felt a wave of sadness in her home. It was in the walls, in the furniture, in her parents' eyes. She never felt alone. There was always a presence, unpalpable, invisible, cold, but comforting somehow. It felt familiar, as if it was part of her. Despite the strange noises, the fog, the sudden shivering cold, she felt protected by this presence. The constant fear of being alone was soothed by this invisible being. She knew she would never be really lonely as long as it would follow her. When Meredith died, she started coming back to her childhood home. Sometimes she was all alone, but more often then not, she could see her mother making breakfast, her dad drinking his coffee, her dog playing outside. And mostly, herself. Herself as a toddler refusing to eat food, herself as a child arguing with her father. And as she was observing, she often caught that look. As if they could see her, as if she was heard. This is when Meredith realised, the presence, the sadness, the cold she always felt growing up, was herself. The house is a beautiful mix of Gothic and Tudor architecture with Victorian influence.
