How does a Network Switch work | Network Switching Logic

Network switch is an important device used to establish computer network. It maintains a MAC table where it saves the MAC addresses and the port numbers. When it receives a frame to be sent to any other node on the network, it looks into its MAC table and forwards that frame to the required destination. If the switch receives a unicast frame, it sends that frame to all the nodes connected to it except the one from which it received that frame. The node having its MAC address matched with the received from, acknowledges the switch and in this way, switch learns the MAC and its port number which is then save in its MAC table for next time use. Uncast frames are the frames who MAC address is not available in the MAC table. #Networkingswitch #switchingLogic
