Why I am Obsessed with the "GRID RULES"!

If you are over the age of 55, you have a huge advantage when you file for Social Security disability. As I discuss in this video, Social Security has put into place a special set of rules that only apply to disability claimants who are older. This special set of rules are called the "Grid Rules" and I created a web site at https://gridrules.net that shows you how to use the grids. Social Security recognizes that workers over 55 will have a great deal of difficulty learning new skills or changing careers. They also realize that when given a choice, employers are not very likely to hire older workers for entry level jobs. There is another regulation in the Program Operations manual that makes it even easier to win when you are over 60. So, while most of us are not thrilled about getting older, there are some benefits when applying for disability. Fortunately these proposed changes were withdrawn but they may be back so we cannot take this beneficial program for granted. But for now, at least, those over 55 retain the "grid rule advantage." So if you are over the age of 50, but even more so if over the age of 55, I encourage you to learn how the grid rules might be your ticket to an early approval.
