It’s a massive green area, covering around 117 acres, and it offers incredible views of the water — especially magical at sunset. 🕰️ A Glimpse into History This park isn’t just about nature — it’s filled with history. Originally, back in Byzantine times, this area was covered in cypress trees. In the 17th century, Sultan Murad IV gifted the land to Emir Güne Han, a Persian commander who had joined the Ottoman Empire. That’s where the name “Emirgan” comes from — it literally means “the land of Emir Güne.” Later, in the 19th century, Khedive Ismail Pasha of Egypt bought the estate and built three gorgeous Ottoman-style mansions here: the Yellow Mansion, Pink Mansion, and White Mansion. 🌿 Nature & Vibe Now, let’s talk about what makes this park really special — its nature and peaceful atmosphere. There are more than 120 different types of trees and plants here — including pine, maple, oak, willow, and cypress. The park also features man-made lakes, waterfalls, winding walking trails, and cozy gazebos — all spread across hills with stunning views. You’ll hear birds chirping, feel the breeze from the Bosphorus, and be surrounded by the calming scent of flowers. It’s honestly the perfect place to disconnect from the city buzz. 🏛️ The Ottoman Mansions Scattered throughout the park are three historical mansions, each with its own charm: Yellow Mansion (Sarı Köşk): Overlooking the Bosphorus, great for breakfast or tea with a view. Pink Mansion (Pembe Köşk): Often used for private events or celebrations. White Mansion (Beyaz Köşk): Elegant and formal, often reserved for special occasions. These buildings combine traditional Ottoman architecture with a romantic vibe — perfect for Instagram shots or relaxing with a cup of Turkish tea. 🌷 Tulip Festival (Lale Festivali) If you visit in April, you’ll witness one of the most breathtaking events in Istanbul — the International Tulip Festival. Millions of tulips bloom across the park in every color and pattern you can imagine — arranged into artistic shapes, carpets, and even floral mosaics of the Turkish flag.
