Hello there! Welcome to the final (ordinary*) episode of 3 modules! I want to send a big thanks to all of you for watching and following the channel – it's been a great motivator to see this series maintain a consistent interest, and I really enjoy interacting with all of you in the comments. I certainly intend to keep posting modular videos with patch notes and all that, so I hope you'll stay tuned for more even though I'm shelving this format. For three years I have been posting these patches (almost) weekly, which I certainly had not anticipated when I started out. I'm also quite proud to have built a full archive of properly documented patches along the way (check the link below to browse through the series overview, if you're interested). Episode 150 feels like a good place to retire the series. The main reasons why I started this to begin with was to force myself to get creative with how I use my setup, and to record something new with the modular at least once a week. I think that has been well accomplished, and I highly recommend all of you try the three module challenge: It's a great way to force yourself to find new uses for the modules you have. After 150 episodes I must admit that the format doesn't always inspire me as much as it used to, and it feels like I often recycle ideas in different variations. One of the premises from the beginning has been to not feature the same combo of three modules twice. And while I still have untested combos, the number of interesting or novel combinations grows smaller every week (certainly from the perspective of achieving something musical). On the other hand, I have lots of patch ideas that popped up but were discarded because I couldn't fit them within the 3 module format (you always need that extra attenuator/offset/VCA!) or because I had already used the combo in question, so I'm eager to spend more time on that stuff and I hope you'll stick around for it! I can't promise that I won't make any bonus episodes down the line, if the mood strikes again! ;-) Patch notes: Not so much to say about this one: SQ-1 plays Tides with a sequence in random order, while I manually adjust Tides' parameters and switch between the three different Parasite firmware modes: Standard Tides, Two Bumps (harmonic oscillator) and Two Drunks ("drunken walk" randomness/noisy tones). You can find info about the Parasite firmware here: https://mqtthiqs.github.io/parasites/... The audio is processed with Mimeophon, which is synced to the sequencer for rhythmic echoes. I have its Mix control set to fully wet, in order to affect the whole signal with Mimeophon's Color filter (as you can see I have one hand on that control pretty much the whole time). * * Thanks for watching! :) Check out the #3modulechallenge for more 3 module patches! ➢ Series overview: https://goo.gl/TyP8jS ➢ Modulargrid: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/v... ➢ ➢ Support the channel by buying some music via https://comparativeirrelevance.bandca... https://linktr.ee/comparativeirrelevance
