Hearson Cove Compound Remediation Project

Woodside as operator of the North West Shelf Project has worked with Traditional Custodians and government stakeholders to complete the Hearson Cove Compound Remediation Project. The Project resulted in the successful relocation of more than 1700 pieces of rock art in the Pilbara late last year. The rock art was originally moved by the WA Museum back in the 1980s when the Karratha Gas Plant was under construction. This project has ensured the rock art was moved safely and with sensitivity to appropriate positions within the local landscape and marks an important step forward on our reconciliation journey.
