God bestowed upon man a kind of autonomy & appointed him His Vicegerent on Earth 2nd God made it abundantly plain to Man that He Alone is man’s Lord & Sovereign. Man is not entitled to consider himself independent & that only God is entitled to claim absolute obedience, service & worship. Life in this world is a temporary term to test humans; After the end of this earthly life ALL humans (irrespective of Faith inc Atheists) must return to God, Who will judge him on the basis of his performance. The right way for humans is to regard God as his only Sovereign & the only object of his worship & adoration 3rd God chose to appoint those human beings whose faith in Him was outstanding & who followed the way pleasing to Him. God chose these people to be His envoys. He had His messages communicated to them [Prophets & Messengers], honoured them with an intimate knowledge of reality, provided them with the true laws of life & entrusted them with the task of recalling Man to the Original path from which they had strayed 4th, these Prophets were sent to different people. They all had the same religion; the one originally revealed to Humanity as the Right Way. All these Prophets had the same mission – to call Man to this true religion 5th, finally, the Lord of the Universe sent Mohamed (SAW) to Arabia & entrusted him with the same mission that He had entrusted to earlier Prophets. This LAST Messenger of God addressed the followers of the earlier Prophets (who had deviated) as well as the rest of humanity. The Quran is the Book which embodies this mission & guidance, as Revealed by God to Mohamed (SAW) -Sayyid Abul A’la Mawdudi (Towards understanding the Quran) The Quran indeed every Religious Book - has to be read, not only with the tongue, the voice and the eyes, but with the best light that our intellect can supply, and even more, with the truest and purest light which our heart and conscience can give us.
