Welcome to CRIMSON GUITARS HQ https://www.crimsonguitars.com/ In this video from Ben Crowe and https://crimsonguitars.com Ben plays around with acid in an attempt to ebonise the Oak used to build this custom guitar without resorting to dissolving wire wool in vinegar. Using a combination of ferric chloride acid and cheap vinegar it is possible to create the iron acetate needed to ebonize many woods that have a high tanning content. The results speak for themselves, although the process isn't necessarily the safest way to achieve this effect.. It is, on the flip side, fairly quick. Happy guitar building..
