This week’s show is about “Trading Stocks with Leverage”. Large percentage of common investors use their funds to trade stocks and other securities. If they want to buy a stock, they must have sufficient funds in their account to cover the cost of the shares. Many experienced traders take out loans or use tactics that allow them to invest more money than they have on hand. Leveraged investing, or leverage trading, is the term used to describe this type of investment. This allows them to significantly boost their purchasing power, as well as their potential benefits and risks. When opening a trade, leverage refers to borrowing money from a broker. As part of their investment strategy, traders may choose to use leverage in order to get more exposure with less funding. Leverage trading, in the most basic sense, is any type of trading that involves borrowing money or otherwise increasing the number of shares involved in a trade beyond the number of shares you could afford when paying in cash. When trading stocks, currencies, ETFs, commodities, and indices, as well as cryptocurrencies in some cases, leverage can be used. Maximum leverage limits apply to each instrument, which are governed by industry standards to encourage safe trading and reduce the hazards of trading with high leverage. One of the most significant disadvantages of leverage trading is that it magnifies your potential losses, potentially to the point where you lose more money than you have.
