The “Control Assist Camera“ from Panasonic Broadcast & ProAV allows to control a remote camera by tapping on an iPad application. Thanks to this solution, you do not have to be an expert to control the camera, and there is no need for additional control equipment. In a meeting room, in a lecture classroom or in a live presentation, the speaker himself can take control of the camera wirelessly. By using a tablet, camera can be moved, zoomed in and out, or focused to different people. This solution is composed of two elements: the AW-HEA10, a wide angle camera that is attached to the base of a remote camera, and a free App for the iPad, named “PTZ control” and available for download on the App Store. In the tablet screen, two images are displayed simultaneously. On top, the image captured by the primary PTZ camera; below, a wide-angle image captured by the HEA10. Tapping the desired area on the wide image makes the primary camera move quickly and smoothly to the selected shot. Zooming can be controlled via the familiar "pinching" motion, and also with a sliding control.
