As a wing commander in the Army of the Potomac, Major General John Fulton Reynolds was one of the highest ranking officers to fall in battle during the Civil War. His bold and decisive actions on the morning of the first day of the battle blunted the Confederate advance and are often cited as a major reason for the Union victory at Gettysburg. Reynolds paid for his aggressive style of command with his life. Join historian Timothy H.
