The LGBTQ+ (Mis)Representation of Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran is often looked on as a queer icon- a show that stands out amongst the others of it's time. And while I love the show and I love seeing representation where there isn't much elsewhere, it's time to stop and discuss whether or not this show is the icon so many people claim it to be. While I think there's some fact in my reasoning, let's not forget that my opinion is also heavily sprinkled in. My word is not the end all, be all. And above all else, this is a discussion over a piece of fiction, which is open to interpretation. I didn't discuss all of the issues in the show and I don't spend a ton of time discussing real life issues related to the issues within the show. This doesn't mean I don't care about those other issues at all! Talking about one issue doesn't equate to dismissing all other issues! Let me know your thoughts!
