Born Thabang Mathebula, DJ and producer Thakzin hails from a South-African-Mozambican family of musicians. Growing up on a rich diet of kwaito, deep house, jazz and R&B, Thakzin thrives within the Afro house scene through his granular production and deft transitions. Today, Thakzin performs a DJ set on Glamcult TV. Thakzin gives life to the mandatory-foot thumping rhythm of 3-Step through its signature three-kick-drum framework. In the set, Thakzin deploys his intricate technical skills with beats anchored in high energy rhythms infused with sincereness.
