EU Data Act: simply explained | VDMA

With its data strategy, the European Union is working on building a data economy. The implementation of this strategy is linked to a series of legislative procedures. The resulting easier access to data promotes the development of data ecosystems and spaces. At the same time, the new obligations pose enormous challenges for companies. Companies are now under pressure to act and must ensure that their practices and systems fundamentally comply with the provisions of the EU Data Regulation and create the technical prerequisites for implementation. Interoperable interface standards play a key role regarding the latter. The EU Data Regulation underlines the need to use standardised solutions to increase interoperability.
