He already had trust issues because the former Allies of WW1 despised him for what he did with the RE. As soon as he signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact however, he was more ruthless, trying to assert dominance (Baltic states + Finland). He was also the one who took Poland's left wing. After the betrayal from TR, WW2, and the beginning of the Cold War, his trust issues and his ruthlessness were to the extreme and many of his allies and his own son distanced from him. Towards the end of his life, he attempted to become a better person but it was already too late as many moved on from him. He dissolved in loneliness, which is a pretty sad way to go. Now, Russia (his son) has to take over his job, making him stressed for the future in the process.
