finnCap’s Greaves talks possible BREXIT implications

Finncap’s Raymond Greaves talks to Proactive about the upcoming Brexit vote on whether the UK should leave or remain in the EU. Recent surveys have shown that around 60% of Brits would prefer to stay in the EU, and Greaves says this is “a classic case of better the dog you know than the dog you don’t.” The two main issues for the UK are immigration and trade, and, on immigration, he says “most people will be very surprised to hear that we have benefitted immeasurably from immigration, particularly from the Eastern European states.” On trade, however, he says that while the UK runs a trade deficit with the EU on the whole, it runs a trade surplus on its services, and leaving could “pose a very significant risk” to certain industries.
