This is my percussion ensemble arrangement of Pikachu Valley from Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. I'm so excited for Pokémon Day that I decided to make an entire weekend event out of it! Granted I decided this like three days ago, so putting this arrangement together was a little last minute haha. First up for Pokémon weekend is Pikachu Valley! As mentioned in my Q&A video, Pikachu is my favorite Pokémon, and I was super excited to see it get its own valley back in Gen VII. Given the instrumentation of the original song, I'm honestly surprised I haven't covered this theme until now. I did transpose it to a different key to make the bassline fit on my 4.0 octave marimba, but I think it was absolutely worth it because that lowest note wouldn't pack the same punch if it wasn't an octave lower! I don't have a 3DS capture card (and you can't really buy them anymore), so recording the 3DS with my iPhone camera was certainly an experiment. The colors are a bit off, but I think the effect still works. Not included in this video is footage of me saying, "wait which island is Pikachu Valley on again" after not playing Sun/Moon for two generations haha. Want me to cover more Pokémon music?
