What if, instead of an ordinary terrace, I built a bright workshop where I could work in any weather? I originally built a wooden terrace but soon realized I didn’t need just an open platform — I needed an enclosed, well-lit space for work and material storage. Ready-made tents and greenhouses cost around €2000, so I decided to build everything myself. The project turned out to be 8×4.5 m with a height of 3.2 m, using a 45×45 mm timber frame. The right wall and the roof are made of transparent polycarbonate. The structure is designed to last 10 years and can be easily dismantled. My father and I cut and painted hundreds of parts, assembled trusses with plywood gussets, and reinforced the roof and walls with OSB. I installed wiring, gutters, and ridge sealing. During the build I used dozens of clamps, a laser level, and a stop system for precise cutting. The polycarbonate was mounted with expansion holes and the honeycomb ends were sealed against moisture and insects. The result is a spacious, sturdy, and very bright workshop-storage space — perfect for cutting, sanding, and storing wood in any weather.
