CORRECTION: The museum is at 6 James St, Esperance and the Mini Railway is on Taylor Street. (Not sure how I managed to quote the wrong addresses for these.) Esperance is a little over 700 kilometres from the state capital Perth and is quite isolated. It is the most important town in south east W.A. and there is nothing to match it for 400 kilometres north until you reach Kalgoorlie or for almost 460 kilometres to the west where you reach Katanning. It’s importance to the area it is situated in cannot be overstated. In addition to that, the area around the town has some of the most spectacular beaches you will ever see. People rave about Cable Beach in Broome, but is does not compare to the beaches between Esperance and Orleans Bay. CORRECTION: Skylab actually fell to Earth in 1979, not in 1980.
