This video will show you how to unlock a Pinhead Components Locking Bicycle Axle Skewer model shown in the video if you have misplaced or lost your key and the Manufacturer is unable or unwilling to assist you with getting a replacement key. You must be able to remove your wheels if you want to replace a inner tube or replace a broken spoke. If you purchase a Gator Socket, 3/8 inch drive and a 3/8 inch drive ratchet, you can easily unlock a Pinhead Components Locking Bicycle Axle Skewer. The socket is approx $11 and can be found online and at Home Depot, Sears and other Hardware Stores usually in the Tool Department. All you have to do is take the Gator Socket, attach it to the ratchet, place a moderate amount of pressure against the Pinhead Components Lock with the Gator Grip Socket and turn it counter clockwise to unlock. Fix your flat, replace your inner tube, tire or spoke and turn it clockwise to tighten. This video is NOT intended to show thieves how to steal your wheels. They probably all ready know about this method. This video IS intended to show the owner how to remove their wheels to fix replace a tube, change a spoke etc. I invite the owner of Pinhead 1. to admit that their locking system shown in the video can be opened by the Gator Grip Socket and that bicycle owners with the type of Pinhead shown in the video can have their wheels stolen in seconds. 2. to explain how they recommend to an owner with the type of Pinhead system shown in the video, how to unlock their wheels in an emergency if they have lost their key, without destroying it by cutting it off? Why would Pinhead Customer Service recommend you to cut it off instead of recommending to purchase a Gator Grip Socket and remove it? I believe it's because they are aware of this flaw and they would rather have you do hours of work to remove the locking skewer and then have you buy a new one. Buying a new one means profit to Pinhead and a loss to the customer. Watch this video by the London Police Dept showing how fast a thief can steal your bike by cutting all types of bike locks. • How secure is your bicycle lock? VID_20121031_170107.3gp
