BOOHLE & TOUCHLINE makes a giant impression in this song "Spaceboy" (Official Music Video) by Bjorn Vido and the Music in Space Experience And what is this projecvt all about, and why has Boohle and Touchline chosen to be a part of this interstellar project ? Bjorn Vidø says: "My music isn't just a symphony for the ears, it's a powerful vehicle for raising awareness about pressing global issues." Musician, climate activist, and visionary Bjorn Vidø is using his art to inspire change and spark important conversations about climate change and environmental preservation. Hailing from Denmark, Bjorn’s work isn’t just about creating hit tracks; it’s about using his music as a tool for advocacy and action. His latest project, *Music In Space*, brings together a diverse range of South African and international artists to amplify this message, blending various genres like afrobeat, amapiano, and more. The Music In Space project features a stellar lineup of artists, including hip-hop sensation Touchline, afropop stars **Boohle and *Zee Nxumalo, and amapiano giants **LeeMckrazy, **Bizizi, and **Kaygee*. Each artist brings their own style and unique voice to this project, creating a rich and diverse soundscape aimed at resonating with listeners across the globe. These artists are known for their influence and fanbase, using their platforms to engage with audiences on crucial environmental topics. 🌍 Raising Awareness Through Music 🌍 Bjorn and his collaborators are determined to make people think about climate change in new ways. He explains, “We need our old planet back. The weather is changing, and everyone can see it. Our project might just be a drop in the ocean, but the ocean is made of drops. Every individual can make a difference, and as artists, our contribution is to give that change a voice, a language.” One of the most unique aspects of Music In Space is how the lyrics tackle global issues. Many of the songs have layered, double meanings — take the club anthem “*Party*” for example. On the surface, it’s a fun track about nightlife, but listen closer, and you’ll find it’s a commentary on pollution. “All I did was a party” becomes “all I did was pollute.” This subtle yet powerful messaging encourages listeners to reflect on their own habits and choices in daily life. Bjorn's creativity knows no bounds. He’s not only known for his musical talent but also for his innovative approach to activism. From walking on an active volcano to hosting concerts at extreme locations like the South Pole for penguins, or even performing in space using satellites and weather balloons, Bjorn pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in music and environmental advocacy. 🌠 The Overview Effect and Changing Perspectives 🌠 Bjorn’s belief in the transformative power of music goes hand in hand with his understanding of what astronauts call the “*overview effect*.” This phenomenon occurs when astronauts view Earth from space, gaining a profound shift in perspective on the fragility of the planet and the urgent need to protect it. Through his music, visuals, and live performances, Bjorn hopes to create a similar shift in perception for his audience. “We all have a soundtrack to our lives — when we fall in love, when we break up. Music can make us feel and act. The news alone doesn’t change habits, but music can speak directly to the heart.” In addition to the artistic contributions of the featured musicians, the project is spearheaded by *Kgomotso Gobeni, COO of **Music In Space*. She has been instrumental in shaping the sound and direction of the entire initiative. “We need public figures to use their platforms to drive positive change. Bjorn’s passion for the environment is truly inspiring, and when he shared his vision with me, I knew this project had the potential to make a significant impact,” says Kgomotso. Bjorn’s dedication to sustainability and climate awareness is as strong as his passion for music. With each new release, performance, and collaboration, he continues to push for a healthier planet and a more informed world.
