Water glassing eggs is an extremely easy, affordable way to store eggs upwards of 8 months, some people have even claimed at 2 years their eggs were perfectly fine. This method is also great because it keeps the egg in its original form. No change to taste, texture… which in my opinion makes this an essential item for any Prepper’s stockpile. ➖Ingredients needed: 🔴 calcium hydroxide (also known as Hydrated Lime, slaked lime or pickling lime) 🔴Room temperature water (filtered or distilled if you’re on city water) 🔴Food-grade storage container 🔴Farm fresh eggs (NOT STORE BOUGHT) eggs must be un-washed but also free of mud, dirt, SHIT 😜 etc. clean but not clean. Ya follow? 🙃 The bloom needs to be on the egg for this method to work. No shitty eggs 😜 ➡️ measure a quart of clean water in a bowl ➡️mix lime and water up well ➡️place eggs in container ➡️pour solution over eggs making sure the solution completely submerges them ➡️put lid on. If you don’t have a lid for your bucket you can also pour a small amount of oil over the top to help protect it and lay a clean towel over bucket ➡️store in dark, cool place until ready to use.
