There are different types of forceps and elevators designed to precisely enter the area object of the intervention without damaging the periodontium and the dental alveolus. To extract a lateral incisor, we use central forceps. In this area, it would be impossible to use molar forceps. We focus on the neck of the tooth and go a bit below the gums for a stable grip of the forceps. Then we perform rotational movements on the tooth axis, elevating slightly toward the vestibular part of the tooth. In this way, the anatomy of the arch is preserved for any therapies involving prostheses. To extract a lower arch tooth, we use forceps like these. The method is the same: grip the neck of the tooth firmly and apply a rotational movement on the tooth axis to aid extraction. Elevators allow us to test the tooth's hold. They are used to prevent damage to the dental alveolus and to extract the tooth in the easiest way possible. They are inserted in the interdental space and, through a lifting motion, help loosen the tooth.
