We designed and built an auto load, auto unload 10-stop Rotary Index Style assembly and ultrasonic welding a 3 piece assembly for the medical industry. The machine base has a heavy 1” thick ground tabletop and a lower 3” square tubing welded framework. Mounted on the tabletop is a 10-stop Camco 601RDM indexer with a 32” aluminum dial plate. The dial plate has ten 2 up stainless-steel holding fixtures. Station Descriptions: Station 1 Spike Feeder: Feeder bowl system with bowl and inline track will be used to feed the spikes to a pair of dead nests. A pneumatic pick & place will two grippers will remove the bodies from the dead nests and place them on the fixtures at station 1. Station 2 Plug Feeder: Feeder bowl system with bowl and inline track will be used to feed the plugs to a pair of dead nests. A pneumatic pick & place will two grippers will remove the plugs from the dead nests and place on the two spikes on the fixtures at station 2. Station 3 Dwell Station: Station 4 Body Feeder: Feeder bowl system with bowl and inline track will be used to feed the bodies to a pair of dead nests. A pneumatic pick & place will two grippers will remove the bodies from the dead nests and place them on the two parts on the fixtures at station 4. Station 5 Dwell Station: Station 6 Weld Station 1: This station will have a hub mounted Branson 2000Xd 40kHz 800watt welder with horn for welding parts together at one of the fixtures. Station 7 Weld Station 2: This station will have a hub mounted Branson 2000Xd 40kHz 800watt welder with horn for welding parts together at the other fixture. Station 8 Dwell Station Station 9: Eject Pick & Place: This gripper style pneumatic pick & place will be used to remove the welded assembly from the dial plate at the eject station.
