#narakasura #narakasuravadha #warangal #ursugutta #diwalicelebration #diwalicrackers #diwalicrackerstash #crackershots#ursugutta #diwali In some parts of South India, Diwali is celebrated as the day Lord Krishna killed the demon Narakasura, who had terrorized the heavens and the earth. • This day, known as Naraka Chaturdashi, symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Narakasura was a powerful demon king who ruled the kingdom of Pragjyotishapura (present-day Assam). • He was born to Bhudevi (Mother Earth) and Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu. • Although born with divine qualities, Narakasura became arrogant after gaining a boon that he would only be killed by his mother. He used this power to oppress gods and humans. The gods prayed to Lord Krishna to save them. Krishna, along with his wife Satyabhama, went to fight Narakasura. • During the battle, Krishna was injured, and Satyabhama (an incarnation of Bhudevi) took up the weapons and killed Narakasura. • This fulfilled the boon that Narakasura would die at the hands of his mother. Before dying, Narakasura realized his mistakes and requested Krishna and Satyabhama that: “My death should be celebrated by lighting lamps and spreading joy — not sorrow.” So, the people lit lamps, burst firecrackers, and celebrated his death as the end of darkness and evil. #durgamata #ytshorts #durgotsav
