We are so lucky here in Toronto to have had this incredible "Live Music" scene for our whole lives...and a great example of what I'm talking about is this recent video I captured down in front of Union Station across from the Royal York... Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley are legends on the Canadian music scene for the past 50 years or so...they are multi- award winning internationally renowned blues artists and writers who recently won a Canadian Maple Blues Award: 'Life Time Achievement: "Blues With A Feeling" Award' ...They have recorded 11 albums together and have toured all over North America, UK and Europe winning numerous awards for their songwriting and albums together. They play traditional blues from the 1950s & 60s in their own unique way... Chris Whiteley is known as a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, harmonica, trumpet, steel guitar)..he began with the "Sloth Band"...as a guitarist he backed up touring blues artists such as – Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Blind John Davis, Chuck Berry, Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson and Leon Redbone to name just a few... 'I Hear You Knocking' is their wonderful take on this classic tune...they are backed up by a formidable group of musicians including Jesse Whiteley on keyboards...Ron Johnston on stand-up bass...and Vince Maccarone drums.
