Hi! Check out one of our latest adventures, diving in Cenote El Pit, aka “The Pit”. Remarkably eerie and inspiring, this cenote was a treasure trove of ethereal beauty. The coolest part for me was swimming through the acid cloud at 27mm, which you will see in the video is misty blue. It’s a layer of Hydrogen Sulfide that is a by-product from the decomposing organic matter sitting on the bottom. Spooky! The dive started in fresh water and at 12 meters we hit a Halocline that gave way to the dense salt water below. 1st scuba dive in fresh water ever, and 1st dive in both fresh and salt in the same dive - pretty sweet.
