“The Livin’ End” (the complete LP) features Barbara McNair with Ralph Carmichael’s Band. Barbara McNair was a multi-talented entertainer who was comfortable both as a singer and as an actress. She appeared in films opposite Elvis Presley (“Change of Habit” – his final feature film) and Sidney Poitier (“They Call Me Mr. Tibbs”). She also performed on Broadway as well as making appearances on numerous TV comedy, variety, and game shows. Barbara and Ralph created two albums together for Warner Brothers, this one was the second LP, released in 1964. It was a collection of ten great tunes, with Ralph’s blazing band undergirding Barbara’s vocals. The list of tunes included “I’ve Got Your Number,” “The Wang Wang Blues,” “I Feel a Song Comin’ On,” “When the Sun Comes Out,” “When in Rome,” “What Are You Afraid Of,” “Secret Love,” “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “Little Things Mean a Lot”, and “So Long, Dearie.” Barbara McNair died in 2007 at the age of 72.
