Mt. Kureha Park is located on a hill near Toyama City. From its observatory, visitors can enjoy an outstanding view of Toyama City and the Tateyama Mountain Range, making it a superb cherry blossom viewing spot with a "snowy mountain and cherry blossoms" view. The park has a plaza called "Sakura-no-hiroba Observatory," and as the name suggests, the observatory plaza is surrounded by rows of cherry trees. The park offers a magnificent view of Tateyama, Tsurugidake, and Yakushi-dake, which have been selected as one of the 100 Great mountains in Japan, as well as cherry blossoms, making it a superb place to enjoy magnificent mountain scenery. It is also an attractive location for railroad fans as they can look down on trains entering and leaving the city of Toyama. Matsukawa River, a small river running through the center of Toyama City, is lined with 520 cherry trees and has been selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. The Matsukawa River is lined with sculptures along the river, and there are observation decks where visitors can go down to the water's edge. Visitors can also view the "Cherry Tunnel" from bridges across the river and enjoy the abundant nature, including waterfowl. Also, a sightseeing boat on the Matsukawa River will take you through the "Cherry Tunnel". You can see the old-fashioned "boat and cherry blossoms" scene. Toyama Castle is a castle ruins in the center of Toyama City, and Matsukawa River flows just north of Toyama Castle. Toyama Castle was the residence of the Toyama Maeda clan, a branch of the Kaga clan, and the Jintsu River used to flow north of Toyama Castle, serving as a natural moat to protect it. In order to prevent repeated flood damage to the Jintsu River, the flow of the river was changed in the Meiji period (1868-1912) by renovation of the Jintsu River, and the original main stream was reclaimed by urban planning, creating the present width of the "Matsukawa" river. The Matsukawa River is now Toyama's most famous cherry blossom viewing spot. Video Content and Time Index 00:00 Mt.
