Made on a whim one late night, here is a vintage trip along the beautiful Talyllyn Railway. In the style of an early children's television program. Written & Narrated by Anthony Noble FILM: The Rev. Albert Knowles (The Original Film can be found here...https://player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/w...) MUSIC: Thames Television, Vernon Elliot, George Butterworth, J.S. Bach (Arr. by Sir Henry Wood) and W.A. Mozart. ABOUT THE RAILWAY: Opening in 1866, the Talyllyn Railway transported slate – and also passengers - from Bryn Eglwys Quarry to Abergynolwyn and Tywyn. It seemed destined to close in 1950, after the death of its Owner. But all was saved, when the Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society was formed in 1951 – the first society of its kind in the world!
