They are located below Lake Altein at the foot of the Schiesshorn. Hiking in summer (June–October) In summer, a visit to the waterfalls is a highlight for hikers: Route: A popular circular tour starts at Untersee Arosa, leads through the Isel area and then climbs steeply to the waterfalls. Duration: You should allow approx. 2 to 3 hours for the circular hike (Untersee – Alteiner waterfalls – Isel – Untersee). Difficulty: The ascent from Isel to the waterfalls is steep and is classified as a moderately difficult mountain hiking trail. Extension: If you want to continue climbing, you can reach the high plateau with Lake Altein after the waterfalls (approx. 1 hour additional ascent).
