Victoria B Kings was formed in early 70s in Sare Awendo by Richard Owino. As I don't know the exact year on this (I'm guessing 80-84 - there is a date here saying 13/12/84 but I can't be certain if that's when the record came out) I can't be sure of the exact members playing on this record. Especially as VB's lineup changed dramatically throughout the 70s and 80s. However, I know that it was written by the amazing drummer John Kitoi (who is doing some crazy business on the hi-hats), and most likely featured Collela Mazee as band leader & solo guitarist/lead vocalist and Paul Odongo Agwatta (assistant band leader & Bass guitarist). The lineup changed so much that its hard to pin down who played on the tune. Kitoi left in the late 80s to join his brother Odongo Manila Nairobi so it has to be before then. Any information please let me know! Thank you to Johnie Magneto on Facebook for help with the information. Sweet sounding Benga on this pretty label Piny Ose Ruu which seems to only have a few releases under it from Victoria B Kings. Please let me know anything more about this label. One of the many sublabels of the Oula Recording Company.
