[Guitar Demo] Yamaha FSX5 | Taylor 312CE | Martin 000-17 (Blacksmoke) | Comparison (Fingerstyle)

This is a simple comparison video featuring Yamaha FS5, Taylor 312CE and Martin 000-17 Blacksmoke. These guitars share similar specs as follow: All solid wood construction Sitka spruce top (Note: Yamaha FS5 has torrefied top, meaning the wood is aged and opened up using torrefaction process) Mahogany / Sapele back and sides (Note: Sapele is a close wood relative of Mahogany, with similar tonal characteristics) Shorter scale length (~24 7/8" to 25") Similar body (000/OM or Grand Concert size. Similar size with slight differences in the dimensions) The Yamaha FS5 is made in Japan, and it is one of the high-end acoustic guitars in Yamaha lineups. The Martin and the Taylor are both relatively affordable models among their USA-made lineups. (Yes, still rather expensive) Curious of how the Yamaha FS5 would compare to USA-made Taylor and Martin, so I made this comparison video. How the sound recordings were done: All were recorded using my iPhone with Shure MV88+ external mic All recordings were taken in a local guitar shop of my city. FL studio was used to denoise background noises to an optimal extent (i.e. not excessively to a degree that would affect the sound of the guitars) No EQ adjustments, no effects. The sound quality won't be anywhere close to a professional recording performed in a quiet environment, but I tried :) Do try them out by yourself if you got the chance to, that also helps you confirm how the guitars feel in your hands. I am mainly a fingerstyle player so the demo was done fingerstyle, without using a pick. You may find the timestamps of the different sections of the demo below. There are 3 major sections in total: Travis picking, Simple neo-soul style rhythm playing, and a fingerstyle cover of a bluesy pop song.
