Feeling lost is one of the most common and least talked about parts of starting over. You know you’re not happy where you are, but you don’t yet know where you’re supposed to go. In this video, I talk about how writing became a way for me to find my way back to myself when everything felt unclear. When my life fell apart, I didn’t start rebuilding with a plan or a clear vision. I started by trying not to lose myself entirely. Writing didn’t heal me, but it became a tool that helped me process what I was feeling and understand what was changing inside me. Sometimes that looked like journaling, and sometimes it looked like writing fiction when it was too overwhelming to write directly about my own life. I share how creating stories helped me work through anger, grief, and confusion, and how paying attention to what kept showing up on the page eventually pointed me toward what I wanted next. Writing wasn’t about reinventing myself or escaping reality. It was about listening to what my inner self was trying to say. If you’re starting over and don’t know what your next step is yet, this episode explores how writing or creative expression can help you orient yourself again before you try to decide who you’re supposed to become. Starting over isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about finding your way back to who you already are.
