Implementation of the TPNW | Session 3: Compliance, Verification and Enforcement of the TPNW

The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) will enter into force on 22 January 2021. In advance of the first Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW, UNIDIR organised a series of online panel discussions on the implementation of this treaty. UNIDIR designed these events to stimulate discussion between States and stakeholders and develop options to build confidence in the implementation of the TPNW. With the TPNW’s entry into force and first meeting of States Parties in 2021, there will be a need for the Treaty’s stakeholders to focus on several issues of consequence for the effectiveness of this new United Nations treaty.
