This video is made as a continuation of the first part of the video on growing oyster mycelium (Pleurotus ostreatus) for beginners where I showed you how to grow your own oyster mushroom lycelium at home from store bought mushrooms. Now, in this video, you have the opportunity to see the progress of the oyster mushroom mycelium from the day we put the mushroom on the cardboard until today, when 25 days have passed. The temperature at which the cardboard was incubated was constant at around 25°C. One very important thing about oyster mushrooms is that oyster mushroom spores are dangerous for human respiratory organs and if you inhale oyster mushroom spores you may have lung problems, so you should pay attention to that when handling oyster mushrooms. The mycelium of the oyster mushroom is quite aggressive and quickly grows on the cardboard substrate, and when it has completely grown, the mycelium is ready for the next stage of oyster cultivation, which is sowing the substrate. The following materials are used as a substrate for growing oyster mushrooms, such as, for example, cardboard, straw, coffee juice, sawdust, healthy wood, tree stump, etc. The production of oyster mycelium on cardboard, sowing the substrate and incubation of the mycelium on the substrate is one of the easier phases of oyster mushroom cultivation, and the most difficult phase of oyster mushroom cultivation is the fruiting of the substrate overgrown with mycelium, because then the overgrown substrate requires different conditions to bear fruit. Oyster mushroom is healthy and it is very easy to prepare a dish from it, and for this reason I try to grow it myself at home 🙂 Hit the Follow (Subscribe Me) button and subscribe to this channel!.
