This is Frankie in the video. I apologize for the bad quality, but I was trying to get his injuries on video so I can see clearly. I captured him that day and took him straight to my exotic vet that allowed me to bring in any rabbit I catch on this horrible lot without an appointment. Sometimes I would bring in seven in a day. It was not cheap, but I spared no expense to help these rabbits. I am not a rabbit rescue. Everything is out of my pocket with no donations during this time. There were hundreds of rabbits that were abandoned and multiplying and being abused by an individual. We did capture video of the perpetrator because the police nor the animal shelter would help unless there was some type of proof. Regardless of the proof I had they needed more. So we got it. He was arrested, but let out the very same day and got what they call a wobble felony and three years probation. Additionally, he is allowed to own animals after his probation is up. Unbelievable ! He spent a couple hours in jail and he killed well over 50 rabbits in horrible ways by punching them, kicking them, catching them with a net, throwing them over a fence. Throwing them into a trash dumpster. Punching them, stepping on them while alive just to let them suffer. It was a horrible experience. I literally have PTSD from this monster, I can’t even look at the place that I captured so many from. Towards the end of the rescue, there are others that were helping to rescue the rest of the rabbits. This is the short of the story. Please speak up if you ever see any animal in danger or if you have a suspicion. Always, always follow through on your gut. Regardless, if the police or the animal shelter, say oh, you need more proof or we can’t do anything about it. Always push through because you will help an animal. You may feel all alone trying to get help for these animals, but believe me it is worth it in the end. Always fight for what you believe in. 💜🌸🐇
