Let's teardown this blown Kawasaki vertical engine. This one came off a classic John deere 165 lawn tractor and lasted for 40 years without issue...until it didn't. These engines are generally trouble free and durable and are very popular powerplants on a lot of commercial equipment especially walk behinds. Whether you're a first timer or experienced mechanic, you can sit back and watch the complete teardown, and I'll render my opinion on the mode of failure I think was the most likely.
